Job Description
The Corporate Accounting team at Oracle plays a vital role in supporting the Chief Accounting Officer organization and maintaining the company’s global financial integrity. This highly collaborative team of finance professionals is responsible for US GAAP external reporting, statutory reporting, compliance, mergers and acquisitions support, and fiduciary responsibilities across Oracle’s legal entities worldwide.
As a Senior Accountant, professionals work closely with the Finance Director and senior leadership to help ensure compliance, manage risk, and protect shareholder value. The role is deeply integrated with multiple finance functions including Global Controller Organization, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Technical Accounting, External Reporting, and SOX teams.
What the Role Involves
The position focuses heavily on financial reporting, governance, and operational excellence. Key responsibilities include:
- Participating in monthly and quarterly close cycles while ensuring timely US GAAP financial reporting
- Supporting consolidation activities across Oracle entities, especially acquired companies
- Preparing journal entries and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and income statement activity
- Assisting with accounting treatment for integration and reorganization activities
- Collaborating with regional financial controllers to maintain compliance with Oracle policies and reporting standards
- Supporting internal audits and SOX compliance initiatives
- Researching historical transactions and evaluating future accounting treatment
- Driving process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives
- Assisting the Tax organization during audits and information requests
- Mentoring team members and acting as a knowledge resource within the organization
The role also requires working across multiple geographies and adapting to different business cultures, making collaboration and communication essential skills for success.
Qualifications and Skills
Oracle seeks professionals who combine strong accounting expertise with analytical thinking and a proactive mindset.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Chartered Accountant qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Business Administration
- MBA as an added advantage
- Up to two years of relevant experience in multinational companies, Fortune 500 organizations, or top accounting firms
- Knowledge of corporate accounting, consolidations, and intercompany processes
- Familiarity with US GAAP, finance, and tax regulations
- Experience with ERP systems, especially Oracle Financials
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills

The position requires availability during USA business hours:
- Close workdays: 9:30 PM to 6:30 AM India time
- Other workdays: 6:00 PM to 3:00 AM India time
