About the Role


Qualcomm is seeking an Engineering Operations Manager to support and optimize engineering operations, budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement initiatives. This role works closely with engineering, finance, program management, business teams, and external partners to ensure efficient execution of product development activities and operational strategies.


The successful candidate will provide operational transparency, analyze performance metrics, manage engineering expenses, and help maintain a steady stream of deliverables across engineering functions.


Key Responsibilities


  • Drive the development and improvement of complex tools and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to implement operational improvements.
  • Support deployment programs for customers and partners and influence cross-functional teams to ensure effective training execution.
  • Analyze operational data, identify deviations from agreed metrics, and recommend solutions to close performance gaps.
  • Partner with engineering management on budget planning, forecasts, and resource allocation.
  • Track engineering expenses and project timelines against established budgets.
  • Prepare and review budget reports on a quarterly basis or as required.
  • Work cross-functionally with finance, engineering, program management, and other teams to support strategic execution.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Science, or a related field with 5+ years of Engineering Operations or related experience.

OR

  • Associate’s degree with 7+ years of Engineering Operations or related experience.

OR

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 9+ years of Engineering Operations or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • PMP Certification.
  • 8+ years of Engineering Operations or related experience.
  • 4+ years of technical project management experience, including resource management and risk mitigation.
  • 4+ years of experience working with senior leadership at the Director level or above.
  • 3+ years of experience in a large matrixed organization.
  • 2+ years of experience working with business metrics, KPIs, or customer support metrics.
  • 2+ years of experience managing operating budgets and/or project financials.
