About the Role
Qatar Airways is hiring a Finance Assistant - Cash in Doha, Qatar. The role is responsible for the accurate collection and deposit of sales-generated cash, handling daily cash and credit transactions, maintaining financial records, supporting reconciliations, monitoring payments and receipts, and ensuring timely fund deposits with the Accounts department.
The position also involves working closely with internal and external customers while maintaining a high standard of professional and customer-focused service.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle cash and manage cash-related risks, including responsibility for cash shortages.
- Process daily transactions and payments and reconcile daily cash collections.
- Deposit funds at the agreed location or bank as directed by the Finance department.
- Prepare and submit cash deposit summaries with confirmation and reconciled signatures.
- Collect cash and card sales from customers and tally collections against sales.
- Report, control, and release petty cash for approved requests in accordance with finance policies.
- Enter data and record journal entries in the ERP system.
- Perform bank account reconciliations and maintain accurate records.
- File and maintain deposit slips, cash receipts, account opening documents, bank mandates, amendments to bank mandates, and other related records.
- Interact professionally with passengers, airport and airline staff, duty managers, and bank staff.
- Ensure that no credit facility is provided without written approval from the appropriate Finance authority in line with the Finance Policy.
- Prepare daily and monthly closing reports on time.
- Prepare floats and issue them when staff collect them.
- Report cash excesses and shortages on a daily basis.
- Perform other duties related to the position as directed by the Head of the Department.
About You
Required Qualifications
- High School Qualification with a minimum of 1 year of job-related experience OR
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with no prior job-related work experience.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Ability to focus on deadlines.
- Willingness to learn new areas related to treasury operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years of job-related experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
- Natural interest in treasury operations and banking activities.
- General knowledge of and interest in financial and capital markets.
