ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Business Analyst, you will work on analytical solutions that help Amazon understand the performance and health of its Operations. The role involves working with large and complex datasets, developing reports and dashboards, monitoring data pipelines, and making information accessible to stakeholders.

You will work closely with product owners, program teams, and technical teams to understand business questions and develop scalable analytical solutions. The position also involves identifying trends, patterns, root causes, and potential risks, then turning those findings into practical recommendations.

The role covers a broad range of analytics work, including dataset creation, metadata modeling, query performance optimization, visualization, and the adoption of new analytical technologies. You will also have opportunities to use GenAI technologies to improve analytics efficiency and impact.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop analytical solutions and datasets to support business and operational decisions.
  • Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations that make complex information easy to understand.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, root causes, risks, and business opportunities.
  • Work with product owners and stakeholders to understand business questions and define analytical requirements.
  • Build and manage large-scale datasets and support data pipeline monitoring.
  • Translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations for business or product improvements.
  • Improve query performance when working with large and complex datasets.
  • Support the adoption of new analytics technologies and industry-standard practices.
  • Use GenAI technologies to create more efficient and impactful analytics solutions.
  • Communicate analytical outcomes effectively to both business and technical teams.


REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
  • 3+ years of experience with Excel, including VBA, Pivot Tables, array functions, and Power Pivot.
  • 3+ years of business or financial analysis experience.
  • Experience using data and metrics to develop business insights and recommendations.
  • Experience influencing and communicating with stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, or a related technical or quantitative field is preferred.
  • Experience with data mining, ETL, and databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets is preferred.
  • Experience with SQL, Python, R, or equivalent data scripting languages is preferred.
  • Experience with statistical or mathematical software such as R, SAS, or Matlab is preferred.
  • Familiarity with data visualization platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or QuickSight is preferred.
  • Experience developing requirements and business metrics for reporting is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate analytical results to both business and technical teams is preferred.
