ABOUT THE ROLE

The Accountant will support the finance function through accurate reporting, reconciliations, general ledger activities and month-end closing. The position also involves coordinating with other departments and finance teams, supervising daily tasks, supporting budgeting and maintaining effective financial procedures and controls.

The role also includes preparing audit schedules, reviewing accounting activities, supporting process improvements and identifying opportunities for automation. Strong attention to accuracy, organization and timely completion of financial activities will be important.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare management reports to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Perform and oversee bank and other complex account reconciliations.
  • Review transactions and approve ledger entries following appropriate checks.
  • Supervise daily finance tasks and support timely monthly reporting.
  • Coordinate with Administration, Operations, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams during period closing.
  • Support annual budgeting, expenditure monitoring and variance analysis.
  • Maintain financial policies, procedures and management information systems.
  • Prepare recurring month-end journal entries and obtain required approvals.
  • Prepare audit schedules for assigned areas.
  • Maintain internal financial controls and support compliance with relevant policies.
  • Help improve finance workflows through new procedures, system features and automation initiatives.
  • Keep professional knowledge updated through learning and industry resources.


REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Commerce.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, payroll and other finance-related activities.
  • Experience with ERP finance modules.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proactive approach to identifying issues and providing solutions.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
